Congressman Loebsack joined his colleagues on the House Floor to share and discuss their concerns over the U.S. Air Forces decision to award the KC-X aerial refueling tanker contract to a foreign owned company instead of the Beoing Team. Rockwell Collins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa was part of the Boeing bid and would supply the aviation and electronics subsystems on the KC-767 Advanced Tanker.

Congressman Loebsack initiated a colloquy on the floor of the Unites States House of Representatives with Appropriations Committee Chairman Obey to bring attention to the serious mismanagement and delays former Iowa Army Ammunition Plant employees encounter when requesting compensation and medical benefits due to illness caused by exposure to toxic materials. On behalf of these workers Congressman Loebsack requested the Chairman’s assistance in asking the Department of Labor to report to Congress on the administration of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program
